NZ’s Mad Men – Doug Young and Shayne Baxter
Storm Surfers in New Zealand wouldn’t have been possible without – you guessed it – Doug Young and Shayne Baxter. Lucky for them they came across two kiwis that redefine the parameters of surf exploration. You couldn’t ask for a better mix of experience, blind courage, and good humour.
Southern Slabs
Hood, booties, gloves.. Southern Sacrifice Sam Hawkes blows an exam, Shayne Baxter breaks his foot and Doug Young brings his baby daughter along. All in a day's work down South.
The Light of Day
History. What's come before. Surely the past must maintain an absolute presence in the here-and-now of our surfing lives? And yet, no matter how good it was yesterday, I still wanna surf again today! Just Another Day
With an abundance of east coast swell over the past few months, Saturday was 'just another day' on the Coromandel.
Daisy in Morocco
As I write I drift back to the moment inspiration overcame me, to travel to the African country Morocco. After seeing Moroccos culture and beauty in a film a few years back now I had decided then and there I wanted to visit this place now the dream lives, 6 months of soaking in the culture and experiencing what the rugged coastline has on offer. Being the summer months here in Morocco the surf is not at it's peak, never the less the longboard has been getting a great run and the beauty of the sunset sessions have made up for any lack of swell.
