We have had a hugely successful year for Scholastics Surfing in Northland, with the Northland Scholastics Surfing Committee running a series of 3 events across Northland. We scored great waves at Ahipara, a few fun ones at Sandy Bay with the grand finale being held in superb waves at Ruakaka's " Power Station".

The level of surfing was very high and amongst the entrants were some of New Zealand's hottest up and coming surfers.

It is with great pleasure that the Northland Scholastics Surfing Committee has named the 2010 Team that will represent Northland at the National Scholastic Surfing Event to be held in Gisborne in October 2010.

Along with the waves, and the surfing, the 2010 Series has gained a massive amount of Media exposure and support, and on behalf of the Northland Scholastics Committee I would like to thank you all for your support and commitment to surfing in Northland. I would also like to thank Ben Kennings and the team at Surfing NZ for their ongoing support, and also Sport Northland.

The first planned team gathering will be the Polar Bear Classic hosted by the Northcoast Board Riders at Sandy Bay on 7th-8th August 2010. The team will be running the North Coast Board Riders Food Tent and all proceeds will go towards team expenses to travel to the National Event in October. We are also planning a Team camp to Mimiwhangata for coaching and team building purposes.

We are actively seeking sponsorship for the 2010 Northland Scholastics Surfing Team, and have hugely appreciated all the support we have received from the Northland Community so far this year.
